On-snow review
New for the coming season, yet somehow already familiar. The geometry and available lengths have been revised slightly, while the construction, plates and bindings are all new. Our testers liked the changes and the skis earned positive reviews. Comments included: “Complete GS skis in every respect. Very predictable. They absorb uneven terrain perfectly without losing drive or control of the chosen line. You do not need to be exceptionally strong to tame them, yet they still have fantastic drive.” Another tester wrote: “Skis with a slightly different character. Initiating the turn requires a decisive move onto the edges. Their grip through the arc is exemplary, but tightening the radius requires a firm ‘stomp’ at the apex.” We also heard: “Highly refined skis. Dynamic. They track smoothly and harmoniously on edge. Stable at high speed. They return energy in exactly the right measure. A good choice for the gates.” This was followed by: “An excellent balance between stability and energy return. They are great fun because they do not demand a Herculean effort. They enter the turn quite easily and return plenty of energy. You can ski them all day without destroying yourself.” There was another view too: “Perfectly decent GS skis, rather on the lighter side. Very turny and easy to ski, with effortless changes of rhythm. At higher speeds, they did not give me quite enough support or stability through the arc, but at normal speeds everything was fine.”
“Absolute top! I would recommend this model to anyone who has been put off by GS skis but would still like to lay down beautiful long arcs. And a general appeal: recreational skiers, do not buy FIS skis. On these – and similar models – you can ski every bit as well, while gaining a great deal of room for genuine fun and opening the door to new chapters in your skiing development. For me, one of the two best skis in the group.”
