On-snow review

In theory, we know these skis very well, but this time Blizzard entered the LTD version, equipped with new plates that perform extremely well. The skis were warmly received and finished third on points. Almost every tester highlighted their remarkable versatility. Comments included: “This is essentially a serious race-inspired hybrid. Blizzard’s designers seem to have given it everything they had. Incredibly confidence-inspiring and pleasant. They tighten the arc beautifully, yet can also run wide. Even powerfully built pilots will manage them. The full-camber construction belongs on groomed pistes. Quick and dynamic, they will do everything except slalom.” Another tester wrote: “Easy and pleasant, without demanding much strength. Highly versatile in different conditions, whether the snow is hard or soft. They initiate turns quickly, which I did not expect from a ski 76 mm underfoot. After discovering how readily they make skidded turns, I did not expect such strong grip on hard snow either.” We also heard: “They carve beautiful medium-radius arcs. Turn initiation is effortless and they positively invite you to stay on edge. You do not feel the width underfoot at all – dynamic skis for setting records for the number of turns completed in a day, with a smile on your face throughout.” This was followed by: “Complete instructor skis. They will work on freshly groomed corduroy in the morning and in the piles of pushed-up snow in the afternoon.” Finally: “Extremely secure in their tracking and capable of charging over rough snow like mad. Perfect, dynamic and quick. Their edges cut the piste like a samurai sword.”

Tester’s take
“Phenomenal skis! They deliver tremendous enjoyment together with complete control and a strong sense of security. They made me feel like a better skier. Groomed pistes are their natural habitat, but they will cope with chopped-up snow too.”
