On-snow review

The Polish importer of Dynamic skis equips its race-oriented models with aluminium RS Aluplate competition plates of its own design. These were also the longest skis tested in the group. Both factors made them particularly popular with heavier and more aggressive skiers. Comments included: “An armoured train powered by dynamite! As stable as investing in gold and as certain as taxes. You need to fire up your thighs and stay active; then they obey – provided your plans involve dynamic, long-radius turns. Full gas. Superb!” Another tester wrote: “They combine the qualities of consumer skis with those from the Masters category. Incredibly confidence-inspiring, smooth and stable, even at enormous speeds and when running straight. They take plenty of work to bend into the arc, but I have the impression that they return all of that energy.” We also heard: “Excellent, dynamic skis – you can feel the rebound. They carve beautiful arcs on edge. Exceptionally stable and smooth. Only the transition from turn to turn could be faster. You can tighten the arc nicely and get the hip very low, although they demand considerable strength because they are extremely heavy. They deliver huge enjoyment. Good for GS racing.” This was followed by: “The name says it all. Unlike anything else in this group. Ultra-stiff – partly because of the plate – so they transmit vibrations from uneven snow. Fast and dynamic, but only for technically aware, advanced pilots. Great fun, although you need to stay on top of them.” There was a dissenting view too: “Too stiff and difficult for me. I found them hard work. You have to pressure them extremely firmly. You feel every irregularity in the snow. Their weight alone is a challenge.”

Tester’s take
“Excellent skis with an aluminium race plate that makes them stiff yet obedient. The energy they return is extremely satisfying. They hold their line as if on rails. Excellent between GS gates. For skiers looking for an explosive ride!”
