On-snow review

Known from earlier editions of the test and very well received in the past, these skis again earned a positive response. They possess a forceful personality focused on difficult snow and off-piste terrain – a model you will either love or reject outright. Comments included: “I will not pretend to be original: phenomenal skis! The flex is perfectly judged for piste use. Despite their width and rocker, they offer genuinely excellent grip on corduroy and let you carve almost anything. They are smooth on edge, the tips do not chatter excessively, and you can let them run from one side of the piste to the other or tighten the turn. Off piste in powder, they simply float.” Another tester wrote: “Pleasant, supple, dynamic and comfortable. Turny. They carve neatly on piste, float through soft piles and work well away from the groomers. These skis show that skiing is not only about morning corduroy glowing in the sunshine. Let yourself be carried away and discover how enjoyable spring slush, powder beside the piste or a heavy snowfall can be. Take them and have fun!” We also heard: “Phenomenal at the end of the day in soft, windblown, churned-up snow. Great fun and excellent at carving despite the irregular surface. Superb skis!” There were dissatisfied voices too: “Not for dynamic skiing on hard snow. At speed, the tips chatter mercilessly. Definitely for soft snow, preferably off piste and in longer turns.” And: “The fronts flap and the skis wander when running straight. It is difficult to achieve a full sense of security or effortless steering.”

Tester’s take
“I had forgotten just how good these skis are. Excellent on piste, where their width is a great help in less-than-perfect conditions – piles and soft snow. Off piste they are outstanding. They rise naturally in powder without requiring an exaggerated move into the back seat. Superb. I’ll take them!”
