On-snow review

A new Dynastar construction with a relatively short radius and narrow waist. The skis made a strong impression, and testers repeatedly emphasised their ease of use. Comments included: “Given the emphatic colour, choosing them will be a test of character. It is difficult to identify one dominant trait, but that makes them beautifully balanced. Versatile across every kind of turn. They are also the narrowest in the group, which gives them pleasant energy. They hop lightly and willingly from edge to edge. Surprisingly, when held under strongly tensioned legs, they slice through piles as though they were much wider. Comfort is good.” Another tester wrote: “Exceptionally pleasant skis. They return all the energy put into the edge change. Initiation is agreeable. They impose no style and demand no exceptional concentration – they are simply built for enjoyable skiing.” We also heard: “Incredibly supple and therefore comfortable. On edge, they turn like a go-kart on a circuit. The edges feel glued down and release only when you decide. They do not require great commitment, yet encourage you to push your limits and discover what else they can do. Huge fun.” The grumblers were not silenced: “Competent skis without the wow factor. Turny and predictable in short arcs. At moderate speed they hold well, but at higher speeds and on steeper pistes they become nervous, including in skidded turns. Better suited to lighter intermediate skiers.”

Tester’s take
“I simply love them. The colour is perhaps for connoisseurs, but what they do on snow is outrageous. Very stable and exceptionally quick from edge to edge. Quite dynamic too. They ski everything and over everything. In the hands of a good skier, they return all the power put into the turn. Full fun and let’s gooo!”
