On-snow review
These Dynastars combine the characteristics of consumer and FIS skis, hence the word Master in the name. Our testers liked them enormously. They finished just off the points podium, but earned the bronze medal. Most considered them highly progressive skis suitable for a broad audience. They differ from the Rossignol Hero Master ST only in their graphics. Comments included: “Very successful slalom skis – race-oriented consumer models. Enjoyable in free skiing: secure, stable and smooth. They do not wander when running straight, and once placed on edge they initiate beautifully. Highly effective in the gates: quick, dynamic and not excessively stiff.” Another tester wrote: “An interesting option for someone who wants to try the gates but mainly concentrates on free skiing with short turns. They are stiff enough and hold their edges well on hard, groomed pistes.” We also heard: “Superb for me – friendly and companionable. They forgive mistakes, but pin them firmly against the snow and they return their power in a very pleasant way. Really good! They will work between slalom gates too.” This was followed by: “Narrow and highly versatile. For me, ideal for a first attempt at slalom – and a second and third one too – followed by further development in the discipline. Very stable and smooth through carved arcs. I think the longer 170 cm version could successfully replace a race-inspired hybrid. Bravo.” Finally: “Solid slalom skis that inspire confidence and behave predictably. They could be more dynamic out of the turn. They demand a great deal of energy through pressure – they do not ski themselves.”
“Very enjoyable slalom skis. They may be consumer models, but they are quite stiff and dynamic. They did not let me down. They track the turn extremely well and, with greater force and pressure, become quick and stable while returning energy very nicely.”
