On-snow review
These skis do not entirely fit the group’s brief because they lack some of its sporting spirit. They would be ideal as a very high-performance All-Round ski and appealed more strongly to lighter testers and to our women. Comments included: “Exceptionally versatile in terms of the snow conditions they can handle. On a piste that is not too hard, they run smoothly without pulling you forcefully in any particular direction. Excellent for skiers who want a fairly sporty ski that will not sink when fresh snow falls. True experts may find them too supple compared with the competition.” Another tester wrote: “Very delicate, supple and yet dynamic skis. You can ski them actively and use plenty of force, but you can also relax and let the sidecut guide you. Great fun in a wide range of conditions and fantastic in short turns on a steep slope.” We also heard: “They have a superb self-steering quality and carry you into the turn very quickly, after which they track the arc with great smoothness. Extremely versatile and enjoyable.” This was followed by: “They felt light in the hand, yet on snow – to my surprise – they held the chosen line well and showed respectable rebound. Versatile and pleasant to ski. A strong option for someone who wants a one-ski quiver and enjoys speed.” From the other side came: “They are too supple for me and I did not feel secure on them. They wandered slightly through the arc and I could not trust them completely. They would fit better in the All-Round category.” And: “For race-inspired hybrids, they have too little aggression and too little sporting spirit, which makes them slightly dull. They do have virtues: good edge grip and easy handling.”
“Good skis! They cut like a blade. I liked them for their rebound and smooth turn tracking – the two qualities that matter most to me. Skied correctly, they can deliver a proper kick at the end of every arc. Excellent hybrids!”
