On-snow review
Head skis have set the standard in this group for years. Our testers consider them demanding but effective. Many liked them, although there were dissenting opinions too. Comments included: “Highly demanding skis for high speeds. Flawless in race use, but suitable only for high speeds, a very firm and perfectly prepared piste, and proper, full-size GS courses.” Another tester wrote: “They retain classic GS proportions. Similar to the Salomons, but much more pleasant and easier. The adaptation period is short and they provide very enjoyable turn tracking. One of the best skis in the group.” We also heard: “Blisteringly fast, constantly hunting for more speed and feeling »safe«. I would not choose them because of the amount of strength they demand. They slice through rough snow without losing their line. Put them into a skid and they try to rip your knees off.” This was followed by: “Relatively easy to load and tighten the turn – by the standards of a 25-metre radius, of course. A successful model.” Then: “Very decent skis, but they need to be pressured before they obey. They offer little rebound and demand constant control.” There were also two particularly uncompromising assessments. One read: “Brutally stiff skis. At my weight and strength, I cannot bend them. Fast from edge to edge and secure through the turns.” Another: “Very difficult, stiff and heavy skis. I felt as though I were on super-G skis. It was extremely difficult to release them from the turns or alter the radius they imposed, so they did not work for me in the gates. They only start skiing well at high speed. Then they are very stable and hold well through the turns. They seem to have no rebound.”
“Brilliant skis! They go like hell. Phenomenal on steep sections. They return a huge amount of energy, yet you really can trust them. They run as if on rails. You can genuinely race a proper giant slalom on them.”
