On-snow review

These skis are already familiar, yet our testers continue to like them. The word used most often was ‘solid’. They took first place on points, and the cards contained almost nothing but praise. Comments included: “Kästle maintains its standard. Excellent in long arcs, but perfectly capable in medium turns too. They grip on hard snow and feel like a fish in water when conditions soften. Extremely smooth, and you can experiment off piste as well. Ideal for the whole day.” Another tester wrote: “Among the best. Initiation is easy and everything only improves from there. Excellent grip and silky turn tracking. Stable, secure, comfortable and dynamic. Relatively quick from edge to edge. They run like a train on both hard and soft snow. Skis for every condition, but an absolute sensation on piste. A smile all day!” We also heard: “Good, powerful and solid skis, close in character to race models. Quick and secure from edge to edge. Fairly stiff, so they need speed.” This was followed by: “Wow, wow, wow! If anyone writes anything negative about these skis, I want the editorial team to tell me. I will show them how to ski the things. If you love carving and dropping your hip towards the snow, this model is for you. These skis are the essence of fun, with huge potential and the ability to drive real progress. Top of the test!” Another tester added: “Wonderful skis built for carving. Excellent off piste and in powder, but also on hard snow. They turn very easily, yet feel like somewhat stiff shovels, providing a large and secure platform through the arc. That support lets you commit to deep carving angles.”

Tester’s take
“A beautiful, smooth and flowing ride. They engage both edges phenomenally and track as if guided by a string. It is as though they have pneumatic suspension: they absorb irregularities softly without sacrificing control. Highly capable and extremely comfortable in short turns. Not hyper-agile, but agile enough for almost any conditions.”
