On-snow review

A Polish product, and we always appreciate those. Fairly long and the widest skis in the group, with unmistakable freeride genes. Their points score could never be outstanding in this category, yet a surprising number of testers praised them warmly in writing. Comments included: “Another surprise of the test. I skied these extremely well. They were excellent off piste in powder and also performed very well on groomed runs. Tight turns are not their natural habitat, but medium and long arcs were very good.” Another tester wrote: “Friendship from the first powder run. Pronounced rocker and a sensible waist width are ideal in deep snow. Supple and restless when running straight, they hunt impatiently for the next arc and initiate willingly. In keeping with their character, they do not offer much rebound, and the transition from turn to turn is gentle. You cannot expect great stability when skiing fast on hard snow.” We also heard: “The most freeride-oriented construction in the group, with substantial tip rocker. Best off piste, although at this width probably more suitable for lighter people. On piste they are competent in short turns but weaker in carved arcs.” The grumblers added: “For reasons I do not understand, the widest point lies around thirty centimetres behind the tip. That removes their self-steering quality and makes the tips restless at higher speed. Grip on hard snow is not especially good. Chopped-up pistes do not unsettle them, and they are reasonably stable.” And: “No personality and no rebound. Snow feel is poor.”

Tester’s take
“Great fun even in poor conditions. They tighten the turn beautifully, change rhythm superbly and remain comfortable.”
