On-snow review
Well known and well liked, yet they still generate enormous enthusiasm among our testers. They share the same geometry as the Blizzard Firebird HRC, but use a different construction centred on Nordica’s distinctive Dual Core. Comments included: “Enjoyable, dynamic skis. You can feel them returning energy. They turn actively and deliver a great deal of pleasure. Stable in longer arcs and quick from edge to edge.” Another tester wrote: “Sporting in character, very versatile and beautifully balanced. You feel confident on them immediately. Stable through the arc, with an optimally judged flex. The 70 mm waist adds further versatility.” We also heard: “Very enjoyable skis: dynamic, clever and easy to feel at home on. If I must find fault, they may be the tiniest bit nervous. Ideal for amateur industry races.” This was followed by: “The best in the group – dynamic and stable through the turn. In larger-radius arcs they track as if on rails. At the same time, they are very turny and react quickly to pressure, making shorter turns equally enjoyable. Excellent in short turns too. They simply obey the skier.” Another tester added: “From the first turn, they inspire complete confidence – the adaptation period lasts only a few seconds. Ideal for dropping the hip towards the snow without needing huge strength. They initiate readily even at lower speeds, which is far from obvious at this radius. Perfect for a week-long ski trip: impress your friends, relax on a blue run and then charge a GS course.”
“A major surprise! Very enjoyable skis. Supple, agile and dynamic. They initiate turns extremely easily, yet provide stability and support throughout the arc. My discovery of the category. Skis for almost anyone, and enormous fun to play with.”
