On-snow review

These skis do not belong in the category, because they are simply junior GS race skis. Even so, our testers gave them a very warm reception and placed them third on points. Unfortunately, we cannot award them the bronze medal because they do not actually belong in the group. Comments included: “Excellent energy return and grip through the turn despite their short length for this category. They deliver plenty of sporting fun.” Another tester wrote: “Very pleasant skis for lighter skiers. Despite the modest length, they are highly stable and confidence-inspiring. They move easily from turn to turn.” We also heard: “Within this group, I would describe them as the most race-oriented skis. They may prove rather difficult because they work best at higher speeds and under firm pressure.” This was followed by: “Skis with a genuine GS mindset. They are not easy, but they grip well through the turn and allow you to change rhythm. Skis for people who understand medium- and long-radius turns.” Another tester added: “A 23-metre radius at a length of 175 cm is slightly surprising… Their character differs from the rest, making them difficult to compare. Even so, they tighten the arc easily and grip well. At high speeds, they wander slightly.” Then came: “Among the more race-oriented skis, close to FIS GS models. Everything is fine, but I missed a little energy return.” Finally, Ostra: “These skis do not belong in this group, but they surprised me positively. Skis for experts. Stable and running as if on rails, but only in long arcs. They are not piste skis for free skiing – they are for training in the gates.”

Tester’s take
“Responsive, friendly skis for carving thousands of kilometres of piste. A skiing TGV – they fly as if on rails. They track smoothly and grip well. You do not need horse-sized thighs. You can charge with a smile.”
