On-snow review

It appears that Salomon’s engineers discovered a magic formula when developing the Addikt line – or came very close. Although among the longest skis in the group, they delighted almost all our testers and took second place on points. Comments included: “How these skis want to play! They behave like puppies that never tire, bouncing from one turn to the next as though mounted on springs. They feel far shorter than they really are. Their sensible length also gives them competence in broad arcs. It helps in skidded turns too, although those are not their favourite discipline. Filtering irregularities is not a particular strength either – but who cares when they provide this much fun?” Another tester wrote: “Oh, these Addikts are delightful and so eager to play. Excellent for an entire day on piste. Most importantly, they demand no strength while doing everything the skier asks. Light to steer, superb to initiate and stable at the same time. You do not feel the width at all, yet it helps enormously on chopped-up afternoon pistes.” Then came: “Superb skis for all-day fun. A useful length combined with a 15-metre radius. Incredible toys for good skiers.” Another tester added: “They sew every turn obediently, like a perfectly trained Labrador. They roll beautifully onto edge and change rhythm dynamically and smoothly. Exceptionally friendly and, in the tester’s deliberately mangled phrase, ‘gen’rally not tirin’’ skis.” And: “Sensational! They love speed. They are not excessively responsive, but give a great deal of satisfaction. Very secure at full throttle and capable of precise adjustments to turn radius.”

Tester’s take
“These are skis I want to own. Turn initiation is wonderful and short arcs appear under only light pressure. Supremely enjoyable – ideal for skiing all day.”
