Another member of Völkl’s falcon line, the Peregrine. These models are intended for versatile skiers covering long distances in changing conditions, and that is exactly what our testers discovered. The Peregrine 72 made a very strong impression. Comments included: “A solid, comfortable and thoroughly good ride in every condition. Good edge grip and useful rebound. Stable in longer turns and at higher speed, while delivering a great deal of pleasure.” Another tester wrote: “Agile and dynamic skis. They enjoy medium and higher speeds but require active guidance to prevent wandering. Their twin flat rockers adapt beautifully to the surface. They inspire confidence and remain stable through the arc. Suitable for all-day skiing without excessive fatigue and for a very broad audience – excluding beginners.” We also heard: “Almost a textbook model for the category. They create tremendous confidence because they are highly steerable, predictable and stable through the turn. Their character encourages dynamic skiing, so the smile never disappears. They rhythmically spring from one arc to the next and, when necessary, alter direction or radius with ease. For skiers who want more than simply an easy descent.” Finally: “Equally at home at a dance or a prayer meeting: excellent in carved arcs and masterful in short turns. Only the initiation could be more direct – ah, that rocker.”
