On-snow review

This new addition to Blizzard’s range earned considerable approval from our testers. Many did feel, however, that it belonged more naturally in the All-Round category because it offered too little in soft snow. Comments included: “Superb skis. Good grip and excellent carved turn tracking. Quick from edge to edge for their width and dynamic too. Among the best in the group.” Another tester wrote: “Very good piste skis. They drive long and medium carved arcs with confidence and excellent smoothness. Softened snow does not trouble them. Off piste – hopeless. They are simply too stiff.” We also heard: “Powerful, stable and unafraid of speed. Despite the 82 mm waist, they are quick and agile from edge to edge. I would even call them active. Top class.” This was followed by: “Skis for the piste, in every kind of condition – but still on the piste. Quick from edge to edge and easy when changing rhythm. They grip well, track arcs smoothly and are even reasonably dynamic. I can confidently recommend them as a piste-focused all-mountain ski.” Another tester added: “Excellent on piste: agile and responsive. They do what you ask in either broad or tighter arcs. They finish the turn neatly, grip well and let you rip across the mountain. Beyond the groomed surface you feel their stiffness, but they still cope.” The grumblers said: “Average skis for their category. Their only distinguishing quality is the ease with which they vary turn rhythm and radius.” And: “Competent All-Mountain Performance skis that work well on piste. Easy to manoeuvre and not physically demanding.”

Tester’s take
“Very supple and turny for skis of this width. Calm and smooth through the arc, and exceptionally agile in short turns. Ideal for variable conditions. They could grip better on pure ice, but these are not race skis.”
