On-snow review
New skis in Fischer’s range, featuring Noize technology. They measure only 181 cm and have a 21-metre radius, but they deliver a thoroughly serious ride. The response was overwhelmingly positive. Comments included: “Superb skis. Easy turn initiation, secure and predictable through the turn. Excellent flex distribution. Exactly as dynamic as they need to be. They will not launch you into orbit, even if you overdo the pressure. Wholeheartedly recommended. Skis you could use all day in the Alps.” Another tester put it more briefly: “Dynamic skis with a relatively short radius, but they still give you plenty to push against.” We also heard: “Very comfortable, good and dynamic, yet kind to the skier. They forgive mistakes. You can correct errors on the fly.” Then: “Proper GS skis. There is real power in them when you let them run. They let you drive cleanly and powerfully into the turn. Sharp as a blade. The real deal. Hats off!” Another tester added: “Stiff and dynamic in exactly the right measure. Fairly comfortable skis for long turns. Naturally, only for well-groomed pistes. They work in the gates.” There were dissenting voices too: “These skis did not suit me. They feel slightly cumbersome. They lack speed from edge to edge. Stability is fine and they track very confidently. So-so in the gates. I missed agility. On piste, I also missed some rebound, although they can be made to tighten the arc fairly easily.”
“The devil is not so fearsome after all… Excellent, approachable race-bred GS skis, but you definitely need several runs to tune in to them. They require a forward stance; once you give them that, they initiate beautifully.”
