On-snow review

These skis are not new to us either, yet one can confidently say that age has taken nothing from their excellence. Like several other designs, they define the race-inspired hybrid almost perfectly. On points they finished a whisker off the podium. Comments included: “Very good Cross-Turn skis. They run as if on rails – exactly as they should. Ideal for skiers who enjoy long and medium carved arcs, although strong pressure will persuade them into shorter ones too. They slice through piles of pushed-up snow without losing rhythm. You can trust them completely. Excellent for very strong skiers and suitable for all-day use, not only in perfect conditions.” Another tester wrote: “A very solid contender and one of the best in the category. The geometry and stiffness produce excellent initiation, followed by stability through the arc. Moving from turn to turn is easy and quick. They encourage speed.” We also heard: “Oh Yahweh! These are true hybrids. Quick from turn to turn and dynamic out of the arc. Tightening the radius is easy too. Damnably friendly and secure, provided you possess genuinely high-level skills. Otherwise their potential will simply be wasted… And that colour! Good even for amateur GS racing.” This was followed by: “They favour medium-radius turns, although they can be tightened. Stable on hard snow even at high speeds. They demand constant input. Very dynamic!” Another tester added: “Very dynamic, fast skis with tremendous pull down the fall line. Under pressure, they alter the radius smoothly and move rapidly from edge to edge. For well-groomed pistes. Recommended for highly accomplished and demanding skiers.”

Tester’s take
“They are fiendishly demanding, of course, but apply the correct vector and they take no prisoners. Cosmic tracking on edge, interstellar stability and speed. The harder and smoother the piste, the deeper into space you go.”
