On-snow review

These skis have the word Masters in their name, suggesting a perfect fit for this group. And that is exactly where they belong. Neither too difficult nor too stiff – just right for amateur racers. They earned considerable praise and took second place on points. Comments included: “The best amateur Masters skis – although that sounds like an oxymoron. Very stable, fast and a joy to drive hard. Outstanding turn initiation and a strong pull down the fall line.” Another tester wrote: “Very enjoyable skis for free skiing on well-groomed pistes or for taking your first steps on a genuine GS course. Very stable through the turns. The tips are comparatively soft.” We also heard: “First impression – they are light. They ski very dynamically. Everything works as though programmed. Very little effort produces a great deal of enjoyment.” Then: “I really like these skis for the precision of their turn initiation and the ease with which they track through the turns. To be perfect, they would need to return a little more energy. They remain in my top three, because some of the others were only pretending to be GS skis.”

Tester’s take
“Superb, beautiful, perfect. This is exactly what Masters GS skis should be. Smooth, dynamic and confidence-inspiring at every moment. You do not need horse-like strength – technique is enough. They hold the chosen arc beautifully. The calm with which they negotiate a GS course creates the illusion that you are skiing slowly, but that is only an illusion. Sensational!”
