On-snow review
Unchanged from last year, they continue to receive very positive reviews. This time they did not reach the podium because the competition has not been standing still. As usual, some testers complained about the distinctive sound Kästle skis make on hard snow. Comments included: “Kästle surprised me very positively! Superb skis – extremely smooth and running as if on rails. They also have tremendous rebound, returning energy beautifully at the end of every turn. Edge grip is excellent. They can carve exceptionally tight arcs and move rapidly from one turn to the next. Among the most enjoyable skis in the entire test. Every run ends with a smile.” Another tester wrote: “They continue to maintain a very high standard. You do not alter something that works, and these are the perfect example. Step onto them and you immediately know what to do and how to ski. They can be used both very effectively and very stylishly.” We also heard: “Well, well, well! Fit for both dancing and praying: in ‘civilian’ skiing they deliver huge pleasure; push them towards sport and the grin only grows. They enter the turn brilliantly and leave you amazed by how easy and quick it all is. To exploit them fully, it helps to have superb carving technique – then the real fun begins. Skidded turns are harder because the skis become a little less predictable.” This was followed by: “Very enjoyable skis. They do not demand much, grip well through the turn and initiate smoothly. For people who already understand slalom skiing.” We also heard: “Supple, light and easy. On flatter terrain in free skiing, they turn with great ease. On steep pitches and at higher speed, however, I miss a secure platform.”
“Excellent skis! The flex is distributed perfectly along their entire length. You do not have to drive the tips to initiate the turn. Once on edge, they carve beautifully, although they require some technique. Moving from a skidded line to a carved one is childishly easy. Recommended.”
