On-snow review
Salomon’s new women’s ski for the coming season made a very strong impression, even though it is not the most advanced model in the women’s line. Second on points, with a high level of agreement and plenty of enthusiasm. Comments included: “Skis for every condition, from a hard, perfectly groomed piste to a churned-up potato field. Dynamic and quick from edge to edge. Stable without requiring great strength.” Another tester wrote: “Enjoyable skis with easy turn initiation and good edge grip. I think less advanced women will manage them too. They work nicely in both shorter and longer arcs. Slightly too supple for me.” We also heard: “These skis do not disappoint. Excellent for many women who want to ski all day in varied conditions. Dynamic and springy at the end of every turn. I have the feeling that they actually help you ski. The most likeable skis in the group, providing great enjoyment for relatively little effort.” This was followed by: “Turny skis that are intuitive and easy to steer. Skiing them feels light and pleasant. You can let them run too, and their stability makes them feel safe. Skis for everyone, with particular appeal to women beginning their adventure on the slopes.”
“Skis that ‘look after’ you. Their strong stability provides comfort and adds confidence as they glide calmly through moguled snow. The sidecut suggests a preference for long arcs, yet they are surprisingly agile and willing to make tighter turns. Excellent edge grip, forgiving of many mistakes, and fatigue-free in poorer conditions.”
