On-snow review
As with the Elan skis described above, these are skis from the consumer range, reinforced with a heavy race plate and matching bindings. Despite their 183 cm length, their radius is only 18.6 metres – the shortest in the entire group. The testers nevertheless liked them, although they would readily move them into the consumer GS category. Comments included: “They are very turny because their radius is the same as that of consumer GS skis, and that is exactly how they behave. They offer very active turn initiation and decent stability. Tightening the arc is easy too. Their energy return is good for a light skier and they are quick from edge to edge. They performed quite well in the gates, but they are at their most enjoyable on a well-groomed piste.” Another tester wrote: “These skis are better suited to the consumer GS category. They are perfectly decent GS skis, but lack stiffness and stability. They are too light and therefore did not work between the GS gates. I could not find enough support, so they did not allow me to ski aggressively. In free skiing, however, they are very pleasant, fairly easy, turny and dynamic.” We also heard: “The radius is too short for this group. They are too supple for race skiing. They are not suitable for advanced racers. Skis from a different category.” This was followed by: “The least demanding skis in the Masters group. They pull reasonably well down the fall line, but do not require exceptional fitness to tighten the turns. Excellent fun on freshly groomed morning pistes, although they are rather sluggish at turn initiation.”
“Very enjoyable, dynamic skis for skiers who want to experience higher speeds without sacrificing stability. They do not quite belong in the Masters group because their radius is only just over 18 metres. They are better suited to the consumer GS category.”
